Re-Elect Jim Ferris for Payson Town Council

I believe I have a sacred duty to uphold and protect the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights which are God-given gifts to the American people. I uphold our First Amendment rights by defending our Second Amendment rights. Our Seniors and Veterans deserve our honor and assistance.  I will protect the unborn and fight medical tyranny. We must diligently work toward making our town fire adaptive and create evacuation routes for the safety of our citizens. I will never vote to put public facilities on privately-owned land but I will vote to maintain and enhance our current facilities, and consider adding a new recreation center and pool with public approval. Vote for me and help me MAKE PAYSON GREAT AGAIN!

Jim was raised in a small farming community in Northwest Illinois. He has worked in several different industries: home construction and sales, Vice President of commercial and real estate lending for community banks, locomotive engineer, First Tee Recognized Coach and Site Coordinator, and middle school teacher. Jim’s work history covers a diverse range of professions and experiences which allows him to be able to relate to people from all walks of life.

Jim went back to college as a non-traditional college student (old student) and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Illinois University in December 2004. After graduating he immediately moved to Mesa Arizona in January 2005 where he managed, taught, and coached for The First Tee of Phoenix. February 1, 2016, he retired from The First Tee and moved out of the Valley and up to God’s Country.  Since then he has been active in various organization and activities in Payson – the town he calls home.  Jim’s priorities are: God, family, country, and community.  He thanks God every day for all his blessings and for bringing him to a community of wonderful people, friends and faith.

Jim is a proud father of a son and daughter along with their spouses, and four super grandchildren that live in Illinois and Pennsylvania.

Ferris at Payson Town Council Meeting

“I originally ran for Payson Town Council to investigate the political corruption and fight to give the power back to the people. During the last 4 years in office, I have voted against raising the sales tax, supported the development and adoption of reasonable and effective Firewise codes, worked to reallocate financial resources to maintain our facilities, fight for transparency in everything that is brought before the council. While we have done a lot together, there is still much work to be done. Let’s continue to build Transparency & Accountability together.”
